ABOUT
the dream
Solid Rock City Church is a dream to establish an apostolic church in downtown Ann Arbor. It is an endeavor that goes beyond any one individual's abilities or resources. We are confident, however, that by God’s grace, we are equipped with every tool necessary to overcome any inadequacy or insufficiency.

we value...
Apostolic Faith
We strive to return to the Bible-based roots of what Jesus intended His church to be. |
Being Spirit-filled
We are a community of believers that desires the Spirit of God to fill us and influence everything we do. |
Prayer
We believe the effective and fervent prayer of God's people has the power to move mountains. |
Wholeness
We are a safe place of healing where the broken can be made whole. We also believe in nurturing the whole person. |
Diversity
We believe God's kingdom is composed of individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. Our differences make us stronger, not weaker. |
Joy
We embrace joy for the journey. In a world full of negativity, we intentionally choose joy. |
After these things, I looked,
and there was a crowd so large that no one was able to count it!
They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language.

our story
Dear Neighbor,
Thank you for sharing our vision for Solid Rock City Church. The dream to launch a church in downtown Ann Arbor aligns with a larger vision to impact the greater Washtenaw County community. Through Solid Rock Church, we have partnered with shelters for the homeless, social services, and other organizations to serve the city.
Leading the youth group at Solid Rock Church of Ann Arbor sparked my wife, Ona, and my fervor. From there, we transitioned to serving as campus pastors, ministering on multiple college campuses in the greater Ann Arbor area. Over time, we began to feel a growing concern for the center of Ann Arbor. Having grown up in the Ann Arbor area, my wife and I have personally experienced the darkness and oppression that pervades the city. Arguably, this knowledge makes realizing the vision ever more urgent. Fortunately, like many others, we were delivered out of darkness by Christ's marvelous Light.
Through our experiences and ministry, we have both seen firsthand how a relationship with Jesus Christ has the power to change a person's destiny.
And, now, with the help of the Holy Spirit, it is time to change a city's destiny. I hope you will join me in building a city on a hill. One that will drive the darkness from the people who call it home. Praise the Lord,
Nathaniel and Ona Burmeister |
